Ruakohatu Pikiraukawa Tamou passed away on the 9th of September surrounded by the love of her whānau. Loved Wife of Pine Tamou, dearest mother to Moana and Karena and cherished Nanny to all of her mokopuna. A treasured daughter, mother, sister, cousin, aunty and nana to many.
Nanny Ruakohatu will return home to Whangaehu Marae, this afternoon and her service will be held an Whangaehu Marae at 11.00am on Saturday. The service will be live-streamed.
We understand that many whānau and friends want to be present with Aunty Rua and her whānau at this time. With the level 2 restrictions we are limited by numbers attending. Aunty Rua has a large whānau and we ask that if possible please attend by zoom. We know your love and thoughts are here with us all at this time although many can’t attend in person.
Delta Level 2 restrictions will be upheld and whakaeke times will be set as follows:
Thursday 9th September
- 3pm and 5pm
Friday 10th September
10am, 12pm, 2pm and 4pm
We are restricted by numbers to 100 outside and 50 inside and our keka / Covid marshals will liaise with you in the carpark.
We will be wearing masks where appropriate and ask you to do the same.
There will be no harirū.

All whānau are asked to scan in and scan out. Tracer app QR codes will be on display around the marae. There will also be sanitizer stations and sign in sheets for those who do not have the app.
OPE - MANUHIRI:
Tangihanga attendance is limited to 50 people max indoors, and 100 people outdoors.
So we can manaaki within the rules, we will have our keka communicate with all incoming manuhiri. Our whare kai is set up to ensure that tables are seated appropriately, following kai these areas will be cleaned.
